On behalf of Maybank, we wish to announce that the parties to the Sale and Purchase Agreement dated 30 August 2000 ("Agreement") have mutually agreed to extend the Agreement by another 21 days from 29 December 2000 to obtain all relevant approvals from the authorities for the Proposed Acquisition. Bank Negara Malaysia has no objection to the extension of the Agreement to 19 January 2001 for the purpose of completing the regulatory approval process.
