Contents We refer to the announcement made on 3 January 2008 in relation to the Proposed Bonus Issue.

On behalf of the Board of Directors of Maybank, Aseambankers Malaysia Berhad is pleased to announce that Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad has via its letter dated 9 January 2008, approved the listing and quotation of up to 987,277,005 new Maybank Shares to be issued pursuant to the Proposed Bonus Issue.

The Proposed Bonus Issue is now subject to the approval of the shareholders of Maybank at an extraordinary general meeting to be convened on 23 January 2008.
