Subject Members’ Voluntary Liquidation of MNI Holdings Berhad
Contents Malayan Banking Berhad (“Maybank”) wishes to announce that one of its indirect subsidiaries, MNI Holdings Berhad ("MNIH") held an Extraordinary General Meeting (“EGM”) on 1 March 2010 whereby it was resolved that MNIH be wound up voluntarily.

MNIH is wholly owned by Mayban Fortis Holdings Berhad ("MFHB"). Maybank in turn holds 69.05% interest in MFHB. The shareholder of MNIH had also at the EGM approved the appointment of Ms. Chua Siew Chuan as the liquidator. MNIH was acquired by MFHB on 13 December 2005. Following the transfer of MNIH's subsidiary, Malaysia National Insurance Berhad to MFHB on 28 June 2007, MNIH has since been dormant.

The voluntary liquidation of MNIH is not expected to have any material effect on the earnings and net tangible assets of the Maybank Group. None of the directors or substantial shareholders of Maybank or persons connected to them has any interest in the voluntary liquidation.
