| Contents | Pursuant to Paragraph 9.19 of the Main Market Listing Requirements, Malayan Banking Berhad (“Maybank”) wishes to announce that one of its direct subsidiaries, Sifin Berhad ("SB"), which was placed under members' voluntary liquidation on 26 May 2004 and held its final meeting on 19 November 2009, was dissolved on 24 February 2010. SB had been acquired by Maybank pursuant to the merger of Mayban Finance Berhad with Maybank in 2004 and had ceased operations. The dissolution of SB will not have any material effect on the earnings or assets of Maybank Group for the financial year ending 30 June 2010. None of the directors or substantial shareholders of Maybank or persons connected to them has any interest in the voluntary liquidation. This announcement is dated 19 March 2010. |
