Remarks :
We refer to Maybank's earlier annoucement dated 27 February 2008 in which it was stated that Datuk Amirsham A Aziz will retire as President & CEO of Maybank effective 30 June 2008.

Following the swearing-in of Datuk Amirsham A Aziz as a member of the Dewan Negara yesterday in conjunction with his appointment as Minister at the Prime Minister's Department, it is hereby announced that the effective retirement date of Datuk Amirsham A Aziz as President & CEO of Maybank is now 18 March 2008.

Datuk Amirsham A Aziz will also retire from all subsidiaries within the Maybank Group including Aseambankers Malaysia Berhad and Mayban Fortis Holdings Berhad, effective 18 March 2008.

In the interim, effective today until 1 May 2008, Dato' Aminuddin Md Desa, presently the Executive Director/Chief Financial Officer of Maybank has been appointed Acting CEO, and will be the person responsible for the overall running of Maybank.
