Malayan Banking Berhad (“Maybank”) wishes to announce that Rezan Pte Ltd (“Rezan”), an indirect wholly-owned subsidiary of Maybank (through Maybank International Holdings Sdn Bhd and Maybank Kim Eng Holdings Limited) had convened an Extraordinary General Meeting on 28 December 2018, whereby it was resolved that Rezan be wound up voluntarily.

The shareholder of Rezan had on 28 December 2018 approved the appointment of Mr Kon Yin Tong and Mr Aw Eng Hai of Messrs. Foo Kon Tan LLP as liquidators for the purpose of the liquidation of Rezan.

Rezan was previously an investment holding company and had been inactive and was dormant prior to the date of the resolution as mentioned above.

The liquidation of Rezan is in line with the Maybank Kim Eng Holdings Limited Group’s continual review and rationalisation of costs.

The liquidation of Rezan will not have any material effect on the consolidated earnings or net assets of the Maybank Group for the financial year ending 31 December 2018.

None of the Directors or major shareholders of Maybank and/or persons connected to them has any interest, direct or indirect, in the above voluntary liquidation.
