On behalf of the Board, Maybank IB wishes to announce that Bank Negara Malaysia has approved the increase in the total number of issued shares of Maybank pursuant to the Proposed ESGP, subject to Maybank implementing the following to ensure that the Proposed ESGP promotes sound risk management and aligns incentives with prudent risk taking:

(i)         establish performance measures that adequately reflect risk-adjusted returns; and

(ii)        appropriate differentiation in the proportion of fixed and variable remuneration to take into account roles and functions of employees in key management control functions such as compliance and risk management.
