Reference is made to the announcement made by Malayan Banking Berhad (“Maybank”) on 2 February 2018 in relation to the incorporation of its new wholly-owned (indirect) subsidiary in Singapore, namely Maybank Singapore Limited (“MSL”).

Maybank wishes to announce that the Monetary Authority of Singapore has on 3 October 2018 granted a full banking licence to MSL to operate as a subsidiary with Asian Currency Unit capabilities in Singapore with effect from 5 November 2018. MSL was incorporated in Singapore on 2 February 2018. MSL is directly wholly-owned by an intermediate holding company Cekap Mentari Berhad (MSL was previously held by Maybank International Holdings Sdn Bhd), which in turn is directly wholly-owned by Malayan Banking Berhad.
