We refer to the earlier announcements in relation to the 16th DRP.

On behalf of the Board of Directors of Maybank (“Board”), Maybank Investment Bank Berhad wishes to announce that the Board has decided, after careful deliberation, to exercise its right to cancel the application of the DRP on the electable portion of the Final Cash Dividend, as provided for in paragraphs 6(g) and 13 of the terms and conditions of the dividend reinvestment plan statement for the 16th DRP dated 11 June 2018. 

Accordingly, the entitled shareholders of Maybank will receive the entire Final Cash Dividend of RM0.32 per Maybank Share in cash on Friday, 6 July 2018. A notification on the cancellation will be despatched to the entitled shareholders of Maybank.

In view of the softer equity markets, the Board is of the view that a full cash dividend would offer shareholders better value at this point of time.

The cancellation will not have any material effect on the issued share capital, earnings per share, net assets per share, gearing and the substantial shareholders’ shareholdings of the Company.
