On behalf of Malayan Banking Berhad (“Maybank”), Maybank Investment Bank Berhad (“Maybank IB”) is pleased to announce that on 14 December 2016, Maybank successfully established a commercial paper/ medium term note programme (“CP/MTN Programme”) under which Maybank may issue and have outstanding at any time commercial papers and/or medium term notes of up to RM10.0 billion in nominal value.

Maybank IB, on behalf of Maybank, had on 22 November 2016 lodged with Securities Commission Malaysia (“SC”) all required information and relevant documents relating to the CP/MTN Programme pursuant to the SC’s Guidelines on Unlisted Capital Market Products under the Lodge and Launch Framework revised and effective on 15 June 2015. The CP/MTN Programme will give Maybank the flexibility to raise funds via the issuance of commercial papers and/or medium term notes from time to time which can be utilised, amongst others, to fund Maybank’s working capital, general banking and other corporate purposes, including the refinancing of any existing borrowings incurred and/or any existing debt instruments issued by Maybank.

The CP/MTN Programme has been assigned a short-term rating of P1 and a long-term rating of AAA by RAM Rating Services Berhad.

Maybank IB is the Principal Adviser, Lead Arranger, Lead Manager and Bookrunner for the CP/MTN Programme.
