Malayan Banking Berhad (“Maybank”) wishes to announce that one of its indirect subsidiaries, Sri MLAB Berhad (“SMLAB”), which had been placed under member’s voluntary winding-up on 30 December 2011 has held its final meeting on 22 August 2016.

SMLAB is wholly-owned by Maybank Ageas Holdings Berhad (“MAHB”). MAHB in turn is a 69.05% owned company of Etiqa International Holdings Sdn Bhd (“EIHSB”). EIHSB is a wholly owned subsidiary of Maybank.

The voluntary winding-up of SMLAB was part of MAHB’s internal restructuring exercise.

The dissolution of SMLAB will not have any material effect on the consolidated earnings or assets of Maybank for the financial year ending 31 December 2016.

None of the directors or substantial shareholders of Maybank or persons connected to them has any interest in the voluntary winding-up.

SMLAB shall be dissolved on the expiration of 3 months after the lodgement of the relevant statutory returns with the Companies Commission of Malaysia.
