Subject: Members' Voluntary Liquidation of Mayban Futures Sdn Bhd  

Malayan Banking Berhad ("Maybank") wishes to announce that one of its indirect wholly-owned subsidiaries, Mayban Futures Sdn Bhd ("MFSB”), which had been placed under members' voluntary liquidation on 18 June 2014, held its final meeting on 11 May 2016. 

MFSB is wholly owned by Maysec Sdn Bhd, and its penultimate holding company is Maybank Investment Bank Berhad (“Maybank IB”), which in turn is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Maybank. 

MFSB was previously a license futures brokers and had ceased operations since 30 June 2003 and remained dormant. The liquidation of MFSB was part of the corporate rationalization exercise at Maybank IB.

The dissolution of MFSB will not have any material effect on the consolidated earnings or assets of Maybank for the year ending 31 December 2016.

None of the directors or substantial shareholders of Maybank or persons connected to them has any interest in the voluntary liquidation.

On the expiration of 3 months after the lodgment of the related statutory return with the Companies Commission of Malaysia, MFSB shall be dissolved.
