Subject: Members' Voluntary Liquidation of Maysec (KL) Sdn Bhd  

Malayan Banking Berhad ("Maybank") wishes to announce that one of its indirect wholly-owned subsidiaries, Maysec (KL) Sdn Bhd ["Maysec (KL)” or “the Company”] , which had been placed under members' voluntary liquidation on 24 July 2014, held its final meeting on 29 June 2015.

Maysec (KL) is wholly owned by Maysec Sdn Bhd, and its penultimate holding company is Maybank Investment Bank Berhad (“Maybank IB”), which in turn is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Maybank.  

Maysec (KL) was previously engaged in the business of dealing in securities and acts as securities broker. Pursuant to the Order of High Court of Malaya dated 29 August 2006, Maysec (KL)’s stockbroking business was vested to Aseambankers Malaysia Berhad (now known as Maybank IB) on 30 September 2006 and has since remained dormant. The liquidation of Maysec (KL) was part of the corporate rationalization exercise at Maybank IB.

The dissolution of Maysec (KL) will not have any material effect on the consolidated earnings or assets of Maybank for the year ending 31 December 2015.

None of the directors or substantial shareholders of Maybank or persons connected to them has any interest in the voluntary liquidation.

On the expiration of 3 months after the lodgment of the related statutory return with the Companies Commission of Malaysia, Maysec (KL) shall be dissolved.
