Malayan Banking Berhad ("Maybank") wishes to announce that one of its indirect subsidiaries, Kim Eng Research Sdn Bhd ("KERSB"), which had been placed under members' voluntary liquidation on 30 August 2012 has held its final meeting on 23 June 2014. 

KERSB is a subsidiary of Maybank Kim Eng Holdings Limited (“MKEH”) which in turn is wholly owned by Maybank IB Holdings Sdn Bhd(“MIHSB”). MIHSB is a wholly owned subsidiary of Maybank.

KERSB was in the business of providing investment research and other related services and has been dormant since July 2011. The liquidation of KERSB is part of the corporate rationalisation exercise at MKEH.

The dissolution of KERSB will not have any material effect on the earnings or assets of Maybank for the financial year ending 31 December 2014.

None of the directors or substantial shareholders of Maybank or persons connected to them has any interest in the voluntary liquidation.

On the expiration of 3 months after the lodgment of the related statutory return with the Companies Commission of Malaysia, KERSB shall be dissolved.
