Maybank today signed an agreement with a consortium of 20 banks for a US$200 million Term Loan Facility. The loan, which has a tenure of three years, is to fund Maybank's US Dollar denominated business.

The coordinating arrangers for this loan facility are Barclays Bank Plc, Dresdner Kleinworth Wasserstein, Bayerische Hypo und Vereinsbank AG and Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation.

The sub-underwriters involved in this syndication are:-

* Fleet National Bank
* ING Bank NV Labuan Branch
* International Commercial Bank of China
* Llyods Bank
* Norinchukin Bank

The facility is part of Maybank's strategy to actively manage its assets and liabilities and the pricing obtained for this facility also provides Maybank with the ability to offer USD loans to its customers at a most competitive rate.
