| Contents | Pursuant to Paragraph 9.19 of the Main Market Listing Requirements, Malayan Banking Berhad (“Maybank”) wishes to announce that its wholly-owned subsidiary, Mayban Pacific Nominees (Asing) Sdn Bhd ("MPNA"), which was placed under members' voluntary liquidation on 23 June 2003 and held its final meeting on 2 March 2009, was dissolved on 19 August 2009. MPNA had been acquired pursuant to the acquisition of Pacific Bank by Maybank in 2001 and had ceased operations following the transfer of its business to Mayban Nominees (Asing) Sdn Bhd. The dissolution of MPNA will not have any material effect on the earnings or assets of MPNA for the financial year ended 30 June 2009. None of the directors or substantial shareholders of Maybank or persons connected to them has any interest in the voluntary liquidation. This announcement is dated 19 August 2009. |
