Contents	Malayan Banking Berhad ("Maybank") wishes to announce that one of its indirect subsidiaries, Double Care Sdn Bhd ("DCSB") held an Extraordinary General Meeting ("EGM") on 26 October 2009 whereby it was resolved that DCSB be wound up voluntarily. DCSB is wholly-owned by Etiqa Insurance Berhad ("EIB"). Maybank in turn holds 69.05% interest in EIB through Mayban Fortis Holdings Berhad ("MFHB"). The shareholder of DCSB had also at the EGM approved the appointment of Ms. Chua Siew Chuan as the liquidator. DCSB has been dormant since the acquisition date of MNI Holdings ("MNIH") by MFHB on 13 December 2005. The voluntary liquidation of DCSB is not expected to have any material effect on the earnings and net tangible assets of the Maybank Group. None of the directors or substantial shareholders of Maybank or persons connected to them has any interest in the voluntary liquidation. This announcement is dated 26 October 2009.
