We wish to provide information on the Vendors, i.e. Ronald Ooi and Yuanta Securities as follows: (i) Ronald Ooi Ronald Ooi has 30 years of working experience in the securities industry. He was appointed Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Kim Eng in August 2008. He is currently responsible for the strategic vision and planning of the group and has been a Director of Kim Eng since 1979. Ronald Ooi graduated with a Bachelor of Economics at University of New England, Australia. He is a Chartered Accountant with the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Australia. He started his career in Price Waterhouse, Sydney, Australia, before joining the securities industry. From 1986 to 1999, he served as a committee member of the Singapore Exchange Securities Trading Limited. It is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Yuanta Securities Co., Ltd ("Yuanta") and is part of the Yuanta Financial Holdings Group. Yuanta has been the leading securities firm in Taiwan for the past decade and is a diversified financial holding company with a market capitalisation over USD4 billion. In 2001, Yuanta entered into a strategic alliance with Kim Eng, through its wholly-owned subsidiary, Yuanta Securities. In exchange for Yuanta Securities (Thailand), Kim Eng offered 14% of Kim Eng Shares to Yuanta. With the acquisition of Yuanta Securities (Thailand), Kim Eng formed the largest brokerage house in Thailand. Yuanta Securities holds 29.19% equity stake in Kim Eng as of 5 January 2011. Yuanta serves clients throughout Asia, and through its alliance with Kim Eng Holdings in 2001, Yuanta has a global reach that includes operations in Taipei, Bangkok, Beijing, Bombay, Hong Kong, Ho Chi Minh City, Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, London, Manila, New York, Shanghai, and Singapore. With more than 3,000 brokers in Asia, Yuanta services clients in many major international financial centers. Yuanta offers products and services via a variety of distribution channels from traditional retail brokerage branches to sophisticated, interactive online tools. The host of financial products and services Yuanta specialises in include securities trading, research, investment banking, online trading, asset management, fixed income, and derivative products.
